Structure Optimization of SENs and Upper Nozzles

  • About author:Mou Jining, born in 1963, studied silicate engineering in Metallurgy Department of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology from 1982 to 1986, and obtained his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He was in charge of 2 national refractories research projects, responsible for and participated in over 10 research projects on refractories for steelmaking and continuous casting in Baosteel or in provincial level, won a second prize of national scientific and technological progress, a provincial science and technology progress award, a second prize of scientific and technological progress, etc. He has published more than 20 papers and owned more than 20 patents.

Abstract:

The structure of SEN and upper nozzles was optimized and simulated. Relevant trials were conducted on site during the casting of Al-killed steel. These optimizations effectively solve the nozzle clogging and reduce the defects of the casting slab.
